15-Minute One-Pan Creamy Rosé Buldak Jjimdak
Rosé Buldak jjimdak(Korean braised chicken) became known in Korea through a collaboration between a popular Korean jjimdak chain and Buldak ramen. Its moderate heat and creamy sauce made it popular even among people who don’t handle spicy food well.
But it was a little expensive, and the portions were too large for me to order often while living alone. So I decided to make it at home using Rosé Buldak ramen.
I don’t handle spicy food well, so I added plenty of milk and cheddar cheese to make my version creamier and milder than the restaurant dish. With just a little heat and a creamy, rich flavor, it was just right for me.
It all comes together in one pan, with less washing up afterward. If you’d like to try making it at home, give this version a try.
Quick Overview
- Prep Time: 3 mins
- Cook Time: 12 mins
- Servings: 2 servings
- Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients & Substitutions
- Main Ingredients
- 1 package Rosé Buldak ramen (Substitute: 1 package original Buldak ramen + 10g butter)
- 300g skin-on chicken thigh
- 350ml milk
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tbsp minced garlic
- ½ tbsp chicken bouillon powder
- ½ onion
- 1 Korean green onion (daepa)
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- Optional Ingredients
- A little peperoncino
Step-by-Step Cooking Guide
Step 1. Cook the chicken
- Heat the olive oil in a pan. Add the chicken thigh, skin-side down, and cook.

Step 2. Prep the vegetables
- While the chicken cooks, thinly slice the onion and cut the green onion into bite-sized pieces.

Step 3. Cut the chicken and cook the vegetables
- Once the chicken is partially cooked, cut it into bite-sized pieces with kitchen scissors. Add the onion, green onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the onion turns translucent and the green onion softens slightly.
- Tip: Cut into the chicken with kitchen scissors to check the inside. It may still be slightly pink at this stage, as it will continue cooking with the noodles.
Step 4. Add the milk
- Pour in the milk and heat until it starts bubbling.
Step 5. Add the buldak and cheddar slices
Add the noodles, Rosé Buldak sauce, and chicken bouillon powder. Cook for about 2 minutes, then add the cheddar slices and cook for about 3 more minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Substitution: If using original Buldak ramen, add 10g butter along with the noodles and sauce, and let it melt.
- Spice tip: If you like more heat, crush a little peperoncino into the pan.

Step 6. Add the cheese and finish cooking
